Football:
Bonita did what a good team is supposed to do in a mismatch.
The Bearcats cruised to a 49-7 victory over their winless visitors from Grand Terrace High School.
BHS is now 3-0 and they’ve outscored Muir, Ontario Christian and Grand Terrance by a combined margin of 111-41.
Five separate Bearcats scored touchdowns on Friday night.
But the standout had to be Dylan Robinson.
Robinson scored on a 50-yard strip-and-score to give BHS a 28-7 lead.
Robinson then caught TD passes of 9 and 37 yards from his quarterback, Travis Lippert.
Joseph Lara, Bonita’s stud sophomore opened the flood gates with a 15-yard TD run in the first quarter.
Cole Parra recovered a fumble on defense and scored from 20 yards out.
Michael Lee scored BHS’ second defensive TD of the game when he picked up a scoop-and-score and returned it 30 yards for a 21-0 lead.
Davion Woodley closed out the scoring with a 52-yard TD run.
The lone Grand Terrace score of the game came on a 23-yard TD pass from Antonio Patterson to Jayceon Johnson to pull the Titans to within 21-7 of the Bearcats.
Up next: The Bearcats will battle San Dimas next Friday at Citrus College at 7 in the annual Smudge Pot rivalry game.
BHS has defeated SDHS in every game since 2018.
