Covina cruised to its second victory of the 2024 season.
The Colts opened week zero with a 51-14 victory at Cal High, and last night, they breezed past Baldwin Park, 42-7, at Covina District Field.
CHS scored the game’s first 21 points, and the outcome was never in doubt.
Jake Duronslet completed 10 of 15 for 167 yards.
Duronslet tossed a 38-yard TD pass to Hines Soto, and a 61-yard scoring strike to Kevin Perez.
CHS did most of its damage on the ground.
They gained 355 yards on 33 carries, and that included four rushing TD’s.
Kwame Parrish had another solid outing.
Parrish rushed for 266 yards on 22 carries, including TD runs of 63 and 7 yards.
Gatsbee Gumban scored on TD runs of 31 and 1 yards, and he finished with 89 yards on 10 carries.
Soto caught four passes for 46 yards.
Matthew Olivas also had four receptions and totaled 41 yards.
Perez went 6-for-6 on his extra-point attempts.
BP’s lone score came on a 59-yard TD pass from Elvis Diaz to Tremell Horn to cut the Covina lead to 21-7.

The Panthers (0-2) are coming off a 49-7 ass kicking at the hands of Mayfair.
