Baseball:
The California Outlaws and San Gabriel Valley Monarchs tied 7-7 in Friday’s Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League game.
With three games to play in the BCCSL, the Outlaws and Monarchs are in second and third place, respectively.
The top four programs in the six-team league qualify for the postseason, which gets underway on July 27th.
California Outlaws offensive leaders:
All nine Outlaws had one hit or more.
Jason Del Villar finished 1-for-3 with a home run, he was hit by pitch, and drove in three runs.
Vito Fowler singled twice and scored.
Clay Porter walked, singled twice and scored.
Luke Viola went 2-for-5 with a double and run scored.
Michael McQueen drew a walk, singled twice and drove in a run.
Marcus Moyer walked and had an RBI single.
Matt Diaz walked, singled, scored and drove in one.
Austin Easter and Seth Reker drew a walk, singled and scored one run apiece.
San Gabriel Valley Monarchs offense leaders:
Jake Trabbie doubled, had a sac fly, and drove in three runs.
Trabbie has at least one hit in the last 19 games.
David Shackleford went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs and an RBI.
Ivan Barragan walked, singled twice, scored and drove in one run.
Adrian Roman went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Shane Dougherty drew a pair of walks and scored two runs.
Jaden Guzman singled and scored.
Benny Vogel scored one run.
Up next: Both programs have Saturday off, and they’ll be in action on Sunday at Brookside Park in Pasadena.
The Outlaws face the Royals at 11, and the Monarchs meet up with the same Royals at 2.
