Baseball:
The Ventura County Bucs were on pace to lose an 11th consecutive game in the Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League on Monday.
The Orange County Juice led 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth inning at LA Valley College.
But the Bucs scored three times in the fifth and got two runs apiece in the seventh and eighth innings to claim a 9-4 victory.
Nomar Vazquez went seven innings to earn the win, allowing four runs on seven hits.
Vazquez issued one walk and struck out four.
Amari Yolas tripled, scored and drove in three runs.
Nate Sterling went 2-for-4 and scored.
Owen Gott singled and scored.
Marcus Ziegler was hit-by-pitch and scored.
Mario Catalan singled twice, while Matt Santiago and Manolo Tafolla had one hit apiece.
Evan Zesati got the loss after allowing five runs on 10 hits over four innings.
Zesati walked four and fanned four Bucs’ batters.
Hudson Story went 3-for-3 with a pair of walks and three RBIs.
Nicholas Mattera walked, had three singles and he scored three runs.
Ryker Billingsley went 2-for-4 with a walk, three runs and an RBI.
Joshua Sotelo doubled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Eddie Perez went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Skylar Chang drew a pair of walks, singled, scored and had two RBIs, including one via sac fly.
Jarrett Segura singled and drove in a run.
Up next: The Bucs face off with the Arroyo Seco Sentinels on Tuesday at 6 at Brookside Park in Pasadena.
The Juice travel to Ben Hines Field in La Verne on Wednesday to battle the California Outlaws at 1.
