Arroyo Seco Sentinels Defeat Outlaws (10-2) & Royals (5-4) on Saturday; Eskridge Went 4-for-7 w/Two Doubles & Five RBIs

Baseball:

The Arroyo Seco Sentinels picked up a twofer on Saturday.

In the morning, they defeated the California Outlaws, 10-2, in a Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League contest.

And they followed that with a 5-4 victory over the Arroyo Seco Royals.

Both games were played at Brookside Park in Pasadena.

Game One Notes:

Daniel Ramirez got the win after pitching five scoreless innings and allowing three hits.

Ramirez issued two walks and struck out four.

Marcus Moyer hit a solo HR.

Aaron Whobrey and Matt Diaz had two hits apiece for the Outlaws.

Logan Corthell singled in a run.

Jared Benash singled once in the loss.

Matthew Helguerra got the loss after surrendering eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits and two walks over three innings.

Devon Eskridge singled, doubled, scored two runs and drove in a pair.

Omar Cisneros singled twice, scored a pair of runs and had one RBI.

Mark Manuel went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Bryan Richman walked, singled, scored and drove in a pair.

Jason Givens had an RBI single.

Cider Canon walked, singled and scored.

Grant Werdesheim singled and finished with two RBIs.

Nate Longoria went 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs.

Game Two Notes:

Alex Cohen earned the win after going four scoreless innings and allowing five hits.

Cohen didn’t issue a walk and struck out a pair of Royals.

Ben Griffith earned the save with a scoreless ninth inning.

Keedan Nadeau singled, doubled and scored.

Patrick Fregoso went 3-for-4 with a run and one RBI.

Dylan Zdunek singled and had two RBIs.

AJ Anzai singled, doubled and scored.

JL Goldman doubled.

Isaiah Figueroa, Emmanuel Morales and Nate Slaman had one single apiece for the Royals.

Jake Moore got the loss after giving up a pair of eighth inning runs on a hit and two walks.

Devon Eskridge went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.

Bryan Richman walked, singled and scored.

Doug Pyle singled twice and Josh Phillips singled and scored.

Eli Biehl and Beau Stubbs had one single each in game two’s win.

Will Allen, Mark Manuel and Nate Longoria walked and scored one run apiece.

Up next: The Sentinels host the VC Bucs on Tuesday night at 6 at Brookside Park.

The Royals will face the Sentinels on Wednesday at 4:30 at Biola.

The Outlaws head to the Glendale Sports Complex on Monday at 3 to take on the SGV Monarchs.
