Arroyo Seco Sentinels Score Three Runs in Seventh to Defeat VC Bucs, 4-1, in Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League

The Arroyo Seco Sentinels enter the all-star break with a 9-2-1 record, which leads all Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League programs.

With Tuesday’s game tied at 1-1, the Sentinels scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning, and they went on to defeat the Ventura County Bucs, 4-1, at LA Valley College.

Daniel Ramirez went four scoreless innings, and he allowed four hits.

Ramirez walked one and he fanned four VCB batters.

Chase Aurand walked, singled and scored.

Carter Bennett singled and drove in a run on a sac fly.

Will Matuszak, Jayden Rez, Jarrett Segura, Will Kaczynski, Nicholas Mattera and Moses Hyde all singled for the Bucs.

John Miller was charged with the loss.

Miller surrendered one run on one hit and a walk over 2/3 of an inning.

Devon Eskridge went 2-for-5 with a double, run and one RBI.

Will Allen doubled, scored and drove in two runs,

AJ Beltre walked, singled and scored.

Doug Pyle walked and singled.

Up next: After Wednesday’s Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League all-star game, the Sentinels face the California Outlaws at 11 at Brookside Park in Pasadena on Saturday.

And the Bucs and Arroyo Seco Royals meet up Sunday morning at 11 at Brookside Park.
