Allen, Phillips & Werdesheim Combine for Seven RBIs in Arroyo Seco Sentinels’ 12-3 Victory Over California Outlaws

The Arroyo Seco Sentinels improved to 8-2-1 after Saturday’s 12-3 victory over the California Outlaws.

The Outlaws out-hit the Sentinels, 12-11, but five miscues on defense cost them seven runs.

Matthew Helguerra got the loss after allowing seven runs (two earned) on six hits over two innings of work.

He issued one walk and struck out a pair of Sentinels.

Josh Phillips went 2-for-5 with a double, run and two RBIs.

Tommy Golbranson singled, doubled and drove in one.

Will Allen drew a walk, singled, doubled, scored and had three RBIs.

Grant Werdesheim walked twice, doubled, scored two runs and had a pair of RBIs.

Bryan Richman drew a pair of walks, singled and scored two runs.

Rocco Regan walked, singled, drove in a run and scored three times.

Devon Eskridge walked, singled, scored twice and had one RBI.

Omar Cisneros doubled and scored.

Mark Manuel drew a pair of walks and scored one run.

Max McGrady was credited with the win after going three innings and allowing two runs on four hits.

McGrady didn’t issue a walk and she struck out a pair of Outlaws.

Seth Reker went 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Michael McQueen tripled and scored.

Aaron Whobrey had an RBI single.

Matt Diaz walked, singled and scored.

Marcus Moyer walked, doubled and scored.

Luke Viola singled and doubled in Saturday’s loss.

Diego Frey, Jason Del Villar and Vito Fowler had one single apiece for the Outlaws.

Up next: Both programs have the next two days off, and they resume Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League play on Tuesday.

The Outlaws meet up with the SGV Monarchs at 4 at Ben Hines Field in La Verne.

And the Sentinels face off with the Ventura County Bucs at 4:15 at LA Valley College.
