Trailing 3-0, the San Gabriel Valley Monarchs scored four runs in the top of the sixth inning, and they got six more in the ninth to defeat the Arroyo Seco Royals, 10-4, on Friday.
Josh Porter was credited with the win after going a scoreless and hitless eighth and ninth innings.
He didn’t issue a walk and struck out four Royals’ batters.
Max Ryan started and went three scoreless innings.
Ryan surrendered just one hit, walked a batter and struck out four.
Patrick Fregoso walked and had a pair of singles.
Nick Cook and Dylan Zdunek singled and scored one run apiece.
Logan Parker went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Isaiah Figueroa singled, scored and had one RBI.
Ronan Nuqui got the loss.
Nuqui was on the mound in the ninth inning, and he gave up six runs (four earned) on three hits.
He walked two and struck out a pair of Monarchs.
Jake Trabbie went 2-for-5 with a double, run and two RBIs.
Jake Hernandez tripled, scored twice and drove in two runs.
David Shackleford doubled and scored.
Ivan Barragan singled twice, scored and drove in one.
Alex Salazar singled and had a pair of RBIs.
Joey Caponianco and John Nauertz both drew a pair of walks, and they scored one run apiece.
Dominic Del Hoyo was hit by pitch and finished with two RBIs.
Shane Dougherty drew a pair of walks, singled and scored two runs.
Jack Esguerra singled and Adrian Roman walked and scored.
Up next: The Monarchs and Ventura County Bucs will meet up Saturday at 4:30 at LA Valley College.
The Royals are off until Tuesday, when they face off with the OC Juice at 1 at Ben Hines Field in La Verne.
