Marcus Moyer Goes 3-for-4, Including Walk-Off Single to Lead California Outlaws to an 8-7 Victory Over SGV Monarchs

The California Outlaws moved into second place after its 8-7 victory over the SGV Monarchs in Thursday’s Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League game.

Alex Salazar was charged with the loss after going 1/3 of an inning and allowing one run on two hits.

Jason Del Villar hit a shot to left that appeared to be a walk-off home run.

But it stayed in the park at Ben Hines Field in La Verne for a double.

Del Villar moved to third on a ground ball, and he would score on Marcus Moyer’s walk-off single.

Del Villar went 2-for-4 with the run, and Moyer singled twice, doubled, scored two runs and drove in a pair.

Logan Corthell went 2-for-2 with a run and three RBIs.

Seth Reker had a pair of singles and two runs.

Matt Diaz walked and singled.

Lance Armijo singled and scored.

Austin Easter singled and scored.

Rudy Padilla was credited with the win after going two innings and allowing one run on one hit.

Padilla walked two and struck out a pair of Monarchs’ batters.

Jake Trabbie walked, doubled, tripled, scored and had one RBI.

Adrian Roman drew a pair of walks, singled and scored three runs.

Jake Hernandez went 3-for-3 and scored two runs.

Dominic Del Hoyo singled and drove in a pair of runs.

Jadon Gonzalez walked twice and singled.

John Nauertz walked and singled.

Landon Lowther singled and scored.

Jack Esguerra drove in a run on a sac fly.

Up next: Both programs will be in action on Friday.

The Monarchs battle the Royals at 6 at Brookside Park in Pasadena.

The Outlaws will face the Ventura County Bucs at 4 at the Glendale Sports Complex.
