Sentinels Defeat Royals, 10-4, in First of Two Games on Wednesday, & Fall, 6-3, to SGV Monarchs in Night Cap

The Arroyo Seco Sentinels went 1-1 on Wednesday in week three of the Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League.

The Sentinels defeated the Arroyo Seco Royals, 10-4, in game one, and they would fall, 6-3, to the San Gabriel Valley Monarchs in game two.

Game One Notes:

Doug Pyle went 4 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the win.

Pyle allowed four hits, issued four walks and struck out six Royals’ batters.

Nate Slaman singled, doubled and scored.

Joaquin Salcedo singled twice and scored.

Isaiah Figueroa drew a pair of walks, scored and had one RBI.

Josiah Figueroa walked, singled and drove in a run.

Shin Kaitsuka was saddled with the loss after going five innings and allowing six runs (four earned) on five hits.

Kaitsuka walked four and struck out five Sentinels.

Tommy Golbranson drove in a pair of runs, including a solo HR.

Cider Canon went 2-for-3 with a walk, triple, two runs and three RBIs.

AJ Beltre singled, tripled and scored two runs.

Grant Werdesheim walked, tripled, scored twice and drove in one run.

Josh Phillips went 2-for-2 with a walk, two runs and an RBI.

Nate Longoria drew a pair of walks and scored.

Game Two Notes:

Jacob Fox earned the win after two scoreless innings and allowing one hit.

Joey Porter earned the save with a scoreless and hitless ninth inning.

Porter didn’t issue a walk and struck out one.

AJ Beltre went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs.

Jason Givens singled twice, drove in one and scored two runs.

Bryan Richman doubled and scored.

Beau Stubbs singled and doubled.

Rocco Regan, Evan Nahra and Cider Canon had one single apiece for the Sentinels.

The Monarchs got three runs (one earned) on four hits over three innings off Ryan Graves.

Graves didn’t issue a walk and struck out three.

Joe Bacon surrendered three runs (two earned) on four hits over two innings.

Bacon allowed one walk and fanned three Monarchs’ batters.

Jake Hernandez went 3-for-4 with a run and RBI.

David Shackleford doubled, tripled and scored.

Jake Trabbie walked, doubled, scored and drove in one run.

Daniel Moreno had an RBI triple and scored.

Landon Lowther doubled and scored.

Jadon Gonzalez had an RBI single.

Adrian Roman finished with two RBIs and Jaden Guzman doubled.

Up next: All three programs will be in action on Thursday.

The Royals will face the Ventura County Bucs at 4 at the Glendale Sports Complex.

The Sentinels will battle the OC Juice at 1 at Ben Hines Field in La Verne.

The Monarchs and the California Outlaws are slated to meet up at 4 at Hines Field.
