Arroyo Seco Sentinels Pound Out 12-8 Victory Over Ventura County Bucs; Richman, Pyle, Beltre & Phillips Drove in Two Runs Apiece

In a battle of arguably the two best teams in the Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League, the Arroyo Seco Sentinels won a 12-8 slugfest over the Ventura County Bucs.

The game featured a combined 20 runs, 24 hits, 10 extra-base hits, 10 pitchers and four errors.

The Sentinels out-hit the Bucs, 15-9, on Sunday at LA Valley College.

Colby Bette got the loss after allowing six runs on six hits over two innings.

Bette issues two walks and fanned three Arroyo Seco batters.

Bryan Richman went 3-for-5 with a double, run and two RBIs.

AJ Beltre walked, singled twice, doubled and drove in a pair.

Doug Pyle drew a walk, had two doubles, three runs and two RBIs.

Jason Givens had an RBI double.

Cider Canon walked, doubled and scored twice.

Josh Phillips drew a walk, homered and drove in two runs.

Rocco Regan went 2-for-3 with a walk, double, two runs and an RBI.

Nate Longoria walked, singled, scored and had one RBI.

Mark Manuel singled in a run and scored.

Evan Nahra was hit-by-pitch and scored.

Ben Griffith was credited with the win after going 2 2/3 innings and allowing one run on two hits.

Griffith walked one and struck out three Ventura County batters.

Hudson Story went 3-for-3 with a walk, triple, run and one RBI.

Moses Hyde singled twice and drove in two runs.

Alex Howard tripled and scored.

Dylan Nolan-Cook singled and scored.

Sean Parkinson walked and scored.

Chase Aurand walked, scored and had one RBI.

Millar Kuhl walked and scored.

Ryker Billingsley walked and had an RBI.

Will Matuszak walked and singled.

Eddie Perez singled once in Sunday’s loss.

Up next: The Sentinels battle the Royals on Wednesday at 1 at Ben Hines Field in La Verne.

The Bucs will take on the Royals on Thursday at 4 at the Glendale Sports Complex.
