Orange County Juice Defeat Ventura County Bucs, 7-4, to Secure First Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League Victory

The Orange County Juice pulled off a twofer on Thursday.

Not only did they secure their first win in the Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League, the Juice also handed the Ventura County Bucs their first loss.

OCJ scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take a 6-1 league, and they held on for a 7-4 victory.

Geovanny Hernandez went three scoreless innings, and he allowed two hits.

Hernandez issued one walk and struck out six Bucs’ batters.

Moses Hyde doubled and drove in two runs.

Dylan Nolan-Cook went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Ethan Dungo drew a pair of walks, singled and scored.

Chase Aurand and Nomar Vazquez walked and scored one run apiece.

Colby Bette went four innings, and he was charged with two runs (one earned) on one hit.

Bette walked three and struck out three Juice batters.

Jacob Gudino allowed five runs (one earned) on six hits over three innings.

Gudino issued three walks and fanned two batters.

Kyle Lewis walked, singled, doubled and scored three runs.

Makamae DuPont doubled and scored.

Lucas Gabay walked, singled and scored.

Sebastian Garcia went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Luke Willison drew a pair of walks, scored and had two RBIs.

Mario Catalan walked and singled.

Up next: The Bucs will meet up with the Royals on Friday at 4 at the Glendale Sports Complex.

The Juice battles the California Outlaws on Saturday at 2 at Hines Field in La Verne.
