Baseball:
The California Outlaws opened their second week in the Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League with an 8-3 victory over the Arroyo Seco Royals.
With the game tied at 2-2 in the top of the fifth inning, the Outlaws scored three times, and they would get two more in the sixth to pull away from the Royals.
Connor Feer was credited with the win after going 2 2/3 innings and allowing an unearned run on one hit.
Feer issued one walk and fanned four Royals’ batters.
Brandon Gill went 2-for-4 with a double and one run.
Alejandro Decreux drew a pair of walks and scored.
Anthony Sereno walked once and scored.
Dylan Zdunek walked and singled, and Chase Smith had two RBIs.
Tommy Villanueva was charged with five runs (three earned) on six hits over two innings.
Villanueva walked two, struck out three and he was saddled with the loss.
Teige Barrett walked, hit a two-run HR, scored twice and finished with four RBIs.
Matt Diaz went 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI.
Cy Robertson drew three walks, doubled, scored twice and had one RBI.
Diego Frey singled twice with one RBI.
Austin Easter and Ian Wolski singled and scored one run apiece.
Seth Reker went 2-for-3.
Michael McQueen walked twice and singled.
Aaron Whobrey singled, and Jared Benash had one RBI.
Up next: The Royals are in action on Thursday, as they face the Monarchs at Glendale Sports Complex at 4.
The Outlaws and the Arroyo Seco Sentinels meet up Thursday at Brookside Park at 6.
