Arroyo Seco’s Late Rally Ends in a 5-4 Walk-Off Victory Over California Outlaws; Elsee & Goldman Shine on Mound for Royals

After a couple of setbacks to open the Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League, the Arroyo Seco Royals secured their first win in dramatic fashion.

Trailing 4-1 in the bottom of the eighth inning at Brookside Park in Pasadena, the Royals got one run in the eighth, and three more in the ninth to secure a 5-4 victory.

Arroyo Seco took advantage of an error, four consecutive walks with one out and Alejandro Ducreux ended the game with an RBI walk-off single.

Zach Romero was saddled with the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) on one hit and four walks over just 1/3 of an inning.

Anthony Sereno had an RBI double.

Johnathon Carretta singled and drove in a run.

Blake Beckley singled and scored.

Jared Hernandez and JL Goldman drew bases loaded walks.

Goldman also scored.

Brennan Beckley walked twice and scored.

Ryan Ivanyi singled for the Royals.

Isaiah Figueroa walked and scored, and Emmanuel Morales scored once in the win.

Sean Elsee went three scoreless and hitless innings for the Royals.

Elsee walked one and struck out seven.

Goldman got the win after going 4 2/3 innings and allowing a pair of unearned runs on three hits.

Goldman didn’t issue a walk and fanned six.

Marcus Moyer walked, had an RBI triple and scored one run.

Nate Perry drew a walk and drove in one of his two RBIs on a sac fly.

Kadyn Victorian singled and scored in Saturday’s loss.

Luke Viola and Jared Benash scored one run apiece.

Matt Diaz and Michael McQueen both singled for the Outlaws.

Up next: The Outlaws and Ventura County Bucs meet up Sunday at 4:30 at LA Valley College.

The Royals won’t be in action until Wednesday at 4:30 at the Glendale Sports Complex against the Outlaws.
