California Outlaws Rally for an 8-7 Victory Over Arroyo Seco Royals in First Game of Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League

The California Outlaws rallied late to edge the Arroyo Seco Royals, 8-7, in the first game of the inaugural season of the Baseball Census Collegiate Summer League.

Trailing 6-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Outlaws scored five times and they held on for the one-run victory.

The Royals had a 7-5 advantage in base hits.

Seven Outlaws’ pitchers combined to strike out 15 Royals’ batters.

Nate Slaman got the loss after being charged with five runs on five walks over 2/3 of an inning.

Aaron Whobrey had a two-run triple and scored.

Vito Fowler and Jason Del Villar walked, singled, scored and had one RBI apiece.

Ethan De La Fuente was credited with the win.

De La Fuente went two scoreless and hitless innings for the Outlaws.

He walked two and struck out a pair of Royals.

Slaman drew a pair of walks, singled, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.

JL Goldman went 2-for-3 with two talks, a run and one RBI.

Jordan Zuniga doubled in a pair of runs.

Johnathon Carretta drew a pair of walks, singled, scored and had one RBI.

Isaiah Figueroa walked twice, singled and scored.

Up next: The Royals and the Outlaws will both be in action on Thursday at Ben Hines Field in La Verne.

The Outlaws take on the SGV Monarchs at 1, and the Royals will battle the Ventura County Bucs at 4.
