Lucas Favretto Goes Distance, Didn’t Allow an Earned Run & Struck Out Six in St. Francis’ 8-3 Victory at Windward in D-4 Opener

It’s one thing to have a solid regular season.

But winning playoff games is what takes a program to the next level.

And that’s what St. Francis did on Thursday.

The Golden Knights picked up an 8-3 victory at Windward in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 4 playoffs.

SFHS out-hit WHS, 8-7, and they were somehow able to weather four errors.

Lucas Favretto went the distance and allowed three unearned runs on seven hits.

Favretto didn’t issue a walk and he struck out six Windward batters.

Alex Umland doubled and scored.

Luke Crotty was hit by pitch and scored two runs.

Ben Leshgold singled twice for the Wildcats.

Alex Umland got the loss after allowing seven runs (six earned) on six hits in 2 2/3 innings.

Umland walked four and struck out four SFHS batters.

Holden Deitch walked twice, singled and scored a pair of runs.

Jordan Lewallen went 2-for-4, with a run, an RHI single and a two-run double.

Jordan Viramontes walked twice, had an RBI double and walked with the bases loaded.

Bobby Milton singled in a pair of runs.

Dane Shepard walked and had an RBI single.

Jackson Pratt drew three walks, singled and scored three runs.

Up next: The Golden Knights will host the No. 2 seed from San Juan Hills.

The Stallions (21-7) edged Cajon, 1-0, in their first-round game.
