Arcadia got a great outing for Gabriel Lopez in Thursday’s 3-0 victory over Long Beach Poly in the first round of the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs.
Gabriel Lopez went 6 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the win.
Lopez allowed four hits, didn’t issue a walk and struck out eight Jackrabbits.
Fernando Palencia got the final two outs to earn the save.
Nate Berumen doubled, while Miles Hiskey, Henry Lucero and Izaiyah Guiterrez singled to account for the Jackrabbits offense.
Joshua Sayre got the loss after allowing three runs on eight hits over five innings.
Sayre didn’t issue a walk and struck out seven AHS batters.
Avery Truesdale had an RBI single, and he drove in a second run on a sac fly.
Fernando Palencia singled in a run and doubled.
Leo Peniche went 2-for-3 and scored a pair of runs.
Damian Catano and Keyonn Chatman had one single apiece in Thursday’s win.
Jordan Vogel singled and scored.
Up next: The Apaches travel to Yorba Linda on Tuesday.
The Mustangs (14-13) handed Ocean View a 17-2 ass kicking in their first-round game.
