Baseball:

Maranatha continues to distance itself from the rest of the Olympic League.

After Tuesday’s 8-2 victory over Village Christian, the Minutemen hold a four-game lead over Whittier Christian and Village Christian.

Miller issued a pair of walks and struck out nine Village Christian batters.

Gavin Chase doubled, scored and drove in a run.

Ethan Tibert doubled and scored.

Dylan Worrell walked and tripled.

Hudson Nichols tripled.

Nichols got the loss after allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits over four innings.

Nichols walked five and fanned a pair of MHS batters.

AJ Beltre went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs.
