Los Osos Leapfrogs Damien Into First Place After Monday’s 2-1 Baseline League Victory Over Chino Hills

Thanks to Etiwanda’s 2-1 victory on Saturday, Los Osos dropped one-half game behind first-place Damien in the Baseline League standings.

And because of Etiwanda’s 10-5 victory over Damien on Monday, and Los Osos’ 2-1 triumph of Chino Hills, the Grizzlies are back atop the league standings by one-half a game.

There are two games remaining in the regular season.

Reagan Samples earned the win after allowing one run over six innings on four hits.

Samples issued one walk and struck out a pair of CHHS batters.

Wyatt Mohler came on to earn the save and got the final three outs.

Andrew Baldomino hit a solo HR for the Huskies.

Brody Buoncristiani had half of Chino Hills’ four hits, and Jackson Gray singled.

Buoncristiani went four innings for the Huskies, and he was charged with two runs on five hits.

Buoncristiani didn’t issue a walk and fanned a pair of LOHS batters.

Tobey Garcia and Michael DeLucca provided one scoreless inning of relief apiece for CHHS.

Wyatt Mohler and Austin Ziello singled and had one RBI apiece.

Joshua Chairez singled and scored.

Mason Overacker singled twice for the Grizzlies.

Roberto Topete walked, singled and scored.

With two games to play, LOHS leads DHS by one-half a game, and Chino Hills leads Etiwanda by one-half a game for the No. 3 seed out of the Baseline League.
