Baseball:
Bonita didn’t waste any time in putting Claremont away early.
Literally.
The Bearcats scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning before the Wolfpack got a single out.
And they would cruise to a 13-1 victory.
With four games to play in the regular season, BHS remains two games ahead of Colony atop the Palomares League standings.
Aaron Banfield was charged with the loss after allowing seven runs on seven hits and without getting an out in the bottom of the first inning.
Eleven separate BHS batters had at least one hit on Wednesday.
Spencer Savage went 3-for-4, with a double, run and three RBIs.
Austin Owens singled, doubled, scored twice and had one RBI.
Diego Vazquez went 3-for-3, with a double, RBI and run.
Andrew Alva walked, singled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
Andrew Sanchez singled twice, scored two runs and drove in a pair.
Jared Brunk doubled, scored and had one RBI.
Corbin Duffield doubled and scored, and Diego Villa singled and scored.
Jason Montoya singled and drove in a pair of runs.
Cody White went 2-for-3 and scored.
Colton Perez walked, singled and scored.
Carter Alba walked and scored.
Jayden Rodriguez-Bernal earned the win after allowing one run on four hits over six innings.
He walked one and fanned three CHS batters.
Wyatt Green went 2-for-3.
Luke Porras doubled and scored.
Cory Smykla singled and had an RBI ground out.
