Andrew Carter Threw Five Scoreless & Hitless Innings & Struck Out Eight in Damien’s 8-0 Baseline League Victory Over Rancho Cucamonga

Damien bounced back nicely from Friday’s nine-inning loss to Los Osos.

The Spartans got a great effort from Andrew Carter in Monday’s 8-0 Baseline League victory over their visitors from Rancho Cucamonga.

Carter went five scoreless and hitless innings.

He issued one walk and struck out eight RCHS batters.

Gage Wiese provided two scoreless innings in relief.

Wiese surrendered a pair of singles, walked one and got half of his six outs via strikeout.

Josh Almeda walked and singled, and Braden Longo singled to account for the RCHS offense.

Justin Stansbury got the loss after allowing four runs on two hits over 2 2/3 innings.

Stansbury walked four and fanned a pair of Damien batters.

Niko Paoletto singled, had an RBI ground out, a two-run HR and scored three runs in the win.

Elius Kelly had a three-run double in the bottom of the third to give Damien a 4-0 lead.

Jordan Young walked, doubled and scored.

Jaden Kidder walked, singled and scored.

Julian Hines drove in a run on a sac fly.
