Baseball:

Etiwanda earned its first Baseline League series win on Friday.

The Eagles shut down the Upland bats in a 3-0 victory at Memorial Park.

EHS won the three-game series, 2-1.

Christian Eaton put the Eagles on his back.

Eaton tossed a four-hit shutout.

He issued one walk and fanned five UHS batters.

Eaton needed just 79 pitches to finish what he started, and 55 went for strikes.

Brody Morgan doubled, while Noah Garbick, Carlos Arteaga and Griffin Cunningham had one single apiece for the Highlanders.

Issac Carlos got the loss, but he pitched well.

Carlos went all seven, and he was charged with three runs on seven hits.

Carlos walked two and fanned a pair of Eagles.

Al Moreno walked, singled twice, scored and had one RBI.

Ryan Severns singled and his RBI double in the top of the seventh gave the Eagles a 3-0 lead.

Chris Montes de Oca singled twice and drove in a run on a sac fly.

Blake Torres had a pair of singles.

LJ Roellig singled and scored.

Hayden Hull scored one run.

Don’t look now, but after starting the season 2-8, and winning just two of their first six Baseline League games, the two-time defending Baseline League champs are now just one-half a game out of third place.
