Bacon Goes Eight Innings, Allows Three Runs & Strikes Out Five in PCC’s 6-3 SCC Victory at Compton; Nahra Singles Twice, Triples & Scores Two Runs

College Baseball:

PCC secured its fourth South Coast Conference series win of the 2024 season.

After dropping game one at Compton (11-4), the Lancers claimed 15-10 and 6-3 victories on Thursday and Friday, respectively.

Joe Bacon went eight innings to earn the win, and he allowed three runs on eight hits.

Bacon walked three and struck out five.

Ben Griffith earned the save with a scoreless ninth inning in relief.

Emilio Morales singled, doubled, scored and had one RBI.

Jalen Ringwood had a pair of singles and an RBI.

Quincy Quintero went 3-for-4.

Deegan Grgas singled and scored.

Kevin Ramirez drew a pair of walks and scored.

Elias Pacheco had an RBI ground out.

Jacob Ramirez allowed six runs (three earned) on eight hits over 7 1/3 innings in a losing cause.

Ramirez walked two and fanned four PCC batters.

Evan Nahra’s bat continues to sizzle.

The former La Salle standout went 3-for-3, including a walk, triple and two runs.

Thomas Villanueva singled twice, scored a pair of runs and drove in one.

Ivan Barragan’s sac fly in the second inning gave PCC a 2-1 lead, and his RBI double in the seventh extended the PCC advantage to 4-1.

Jack Esguerra, Mark Manuel and Trevor Scott had one RBI single apiece.

Devin Munoz walked and scored.

Adrian Roman had one single in the win.

Up next: The Lancers host first-place Cerritos on Tuesday at 2.
