Andrew Walters Homers, Triples & Drives in Four in Mt. SAC’s 15-4 SCC Victory Over Rio Hondo; Mounties Secured Three-Game Sweep

College Baseball:

Mt. SAC completed its three-game South Coast Conference ass kicking of Rio Hondo College on Friday.

The Mounties secured the sweep by a combined margin of 53-16.

MSAC out-hit RHC, 54-30, including a 20-4 advantage in extra-base hits.

The boys from Walnut have won five consecutive games, and nine of their last 10.

Jeremiah Sibrian got lit up to the tune of eight runs on 12 hits and two walks over his five innings.

As of late, Andrew Walters has been tearing the cover off the ball.

And Walters continued his pace on Friday.

He went 4-for-5, with four runs, including an RBI single, RBI triple and a two-run HR.

Joey Rossetti had four singles, scored and finished with three RBIs.

Diego Ortiz went 2-for-4, including an RBI and two runs.

Andres Mitat walked, singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs.

Bradyn France tripled, scored two runs and drove in a pair.

Kaden Moeller went 2-for-4 with a walk, double and three runs.

Gibby Morales walked, singled, doubled, scored twice and had one RBI.

Bryan Bradshaw singled and scored.

Andrew Ramirez had an RBI single.

Matthew Lorenzano earned the win after going five innings and allowing three runs on two hits.

Lorenzano issued five walks and struck out six RHC batters.

Michael Salcedo walked, singled twice, doubled and scored a pair of runs.

Ethan Orton had an RBI triple.

Edgardo Lorenzo singled and drove in a pair of runs.

Logan Mikel and Josh Zarate walked and scored one run apiece.

In the Rio Hondo College series, Walters went 7-for-11 with three home runs, including a grand slam on Thursday.

Walters tripled, scored 10 runs, drew five walks and drove in 11.

Up next: The Mounties have a pair of three-game SCC series with last-place LA Harbor and fourth-place El Camino.

MSAC could finish as high as second place, but they would need to pick up two games on second-place Long Beach.

The Vikings will battle Compton and first-place Cerritos.

Last week, Mt. SAC won their three-game series with Long Beach, 2-1.
