College Baseball:
Chaffey College to another step closer to an Inland Empire Athletic Conference title.
The Panthers cruised to an 8-2 victory over their visitors from Victor Valley College.
Chaffey out-hit VVC, 12-7, and they improved to 17-2 in conference play.
Joe O’Regan went five innings, and he allowed two runs on six hits.
O’Regan walked one, fanned seven and he improved his personal record to 8-1.
Johnny Lloyd went 2-for-4 and scored one run.
Dominic Dominguez walked and had an RBI single.
Jordan Dominguez had an RBI single of his own.
Davenmarcus Rivera singled and scored.
Eric Logsdon walked and singled.
Austin Puett fell to 1-6 after going four innings and allowing six runs on eight hits.
Puett didn’t issue a walk and registered one strikeout.
With a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning, former San Dimas standout Ryder Young hit a three-run HR.
Jacob Billings walked, singled and scored.
David Loera’s RBI single in the bottom of the first gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead.
Preston Allen had a two-run first-inning single to make it 3-0.
PJ Torrez went 3-for-3 and scored.
Aaron Whobrey singled three times and he scored a pair of runs.
Christian Mosqueda went 2-for-4 and scored.
