College Baseball:
Mt. SAC has won four consecutive games, and eight of their last nine.
On Thursday, the Mounties shellacked their host from Rio Hondo College, 25-7, in a South Coast Conference blowout.
The Mounties out-hit the Roadrunners, 22-6, including 10 extra-base hits.
By the time Rio Hondo picked up their bats in the bottom of the fourth inning, Mt. SAC already led 18-0.
Twelve separate Mounties had at least one hit.
Nolan Troxel got the loss, and he was one of nine RHC pitchers on Thursday.
Troxel went one inning, and he allowed three runs on two hits and a pair of walks.
In the words of the great Sammy Hagar, Andrew Walters certainly finished what he started.
Walters hit a two-run HR in the top of the first, and he belted a grand slam in the ninth.
In all, Walters drew three walks, scored four runs and drove in six.
Ty Thomas has a monster game of his own.
Thomas went 3-for-6 with a three-run HR, a two-run double and an RBI double.
Thomas walked and scored twice.
Gibby Morales went 3-for-3, with a walk, double, four runs and two RBIs.
Andrew Ramirez hit a three-run HR, walked and scored two runs.
Joel Gutierrez singled twice and scored.
Joey Rossetti went 2-for-4, with an RBI.
Jake Hernandez had a pair of singles, two runs and one RBI.
Blake Hagerty singled, scored twice and drove in a run.
Bryan Bradshaw had a two-run double.
Bradyn France singled, doubled, scored twice and had one RBI.
Daniel Briones singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in one.
Cole Nachreiner singled and scored.
Kyle Calzadiaz earned the win after going five innings and allowing just an unearned run on two hits.
Calzadiaz walked four and fanned three Rio Hondo batters.
Aaron Torrez went 3-for-3, with a triple and two RBIs.
Edgardo Lorenzo walked, singled, scored three runs and had one RBI.
Logan Mikel singled and scored two runs.
Michael Salcedo drew a pair of walks, singled and scored.
