College Baseball:
Mt. SAC became the first program to claim a three-game South Coast Conference series victory over Long Beach City College.
The Vikings entered the week with an 11-1 record in SCC play.
And it looked like a fifth consecutive series triumph was on the horizon after Tuesday’s 18-5 ass kicking of Mt. SAC.
The Mounties, however, showed their mettle, and they secured 8-6 and 12-2 victories on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
Matthew Lorenzano went seven innings to earn the win.
Lorenzano surrendered a pair of runs on six hits.
He walked three and fanned one LBCC batter.
Xander McLaurin went 2-for-5 with a double and solo HR.
Reef Danner walked and had an RBI single.
Davis Grawey walked, singled and scored.
Royce Roberts was stuck with the loss after allowing seven runs (two earned) on seven hits over his five innings.
Roberts issued three walks and struck out one MSAC batter.
Joey Rossetti went 4-for-5, and he scored two runs.
Andrew Walters hit a solo home run.
Bryan Bradshaw wen 2-for-5 with a run and two RBIs.
Gibby Morales singled twice, scored and drove in one run.
Andres Mitat walked, singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.
Kaden Moeller had a two-run double in the seventh.
Bradyn France drew a pair of walks, singled and had one RBI.
Joel Gutierrez had an RBI and scored a pair of runs.
Andrew Ramirez contributed a run and one RBI.
Up next: The Mounties host eighth-place Rio Hondo College on Tuesday at 2.
