St. Francis Opens Palm Desert Tournament w/an 11-2 Victory Over Shadow Hills; SFHS Has Won Five Consecutive Games

Baseball:

St. Francis didn’t show any rust after nine days off.

The Golden Knights cruised to a 12-2 victory over Shadow Hills at the Palm Desert Tournament.

SFHS out-hit SHHS, 7-4, and they took advantage of four errors that cost the Knights eight runs.

St. Francis extended its current win streak to five games.

Caleb Ortiz got the loss after going four innings and allowing five runs (three earned) on five hits.

Ortiz walked one and struck out four St. Francis batters.

Brody Ruyle hit a three-run HR in the top of the third to give the Golden Knights a 4-0 lead.

Holden Deitch walked, doubled and scored.

John Calmette and Jordan Viramontes singled and scored one run apiece.

Kalani Quiroz singled and scored a pair of runs.

Dane Shepard walked, scored and his RBI double in the top of the second gave SFHS a 1-0 lead.

JT Martin scored and had one RBI.

Aaron Hernandez doubled.

Jordan Lewallen walked with the bases loaded.

Lucas Favretto went 4 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the win.

Favretto allowed two hits, walked three and fanned a pair of Shadow Hills batters.

Cole Meka walked, singled and scored.

Julian Briceno singled and scored.

Jakobe Figueroa had an RBI ground out in the loss.

Up next: The Golden Knights take on Palm Desert (8-9) this morning (Tuesday) at 11.
