Baseball:

Los Osos remained the lone Baseline League program without a (league) loss on Monday.

The Grizzlies defeated Upland, 5-1, at Memorial Park.

Aidan Cube went the distance, and he allowed one run on two hits.

Cube needed just 70 pitches to finish what he started.

He didn’t issue a walk and struck out five UHS batters.

In the bottom of the second inning and with the game tied at 0-0, Carlos Arteaga singled.

Two batters late, Brody Morgan’s two-out single scored Arteaga, but that’s all Cube would surrender.

In fact, Cube retired the final 17 batters to earn the win.

Dylan Webb went 5 2/3 innings and he was saddled with the loss.

Webb allowed five unearned runs on nine hits.

He walked one and struck out a pair of LOHS batters.

Trailing 1-0 in the top of the sixth inning, with the bases loaded and two outs, Jeremiah Jacobo had a bases-clearing double to give LOHS a 3-1 lead.

Mason Overacker and Jake Monsen followed with consecutive RBI singles to expand the Grizzlies advantage to 5-1.

Hunter Meyer went 3-for-4, and he scored one run.

Overacker singled twice, scored and had the sixth-inning RBI.

Wyatt Mohler wet 2-for-4 and he scored one run.

Monsen singled twice and drove in one run.

Joshua Chairez, Justin Yeutter and Robert Topete each had one single for the Grizzlies.

Up next: LOHS will host UHS on Wednesday at 3:15.
