Rancho Cucamonga Scores Four Runs in Top of Eighth Inning to Claim 5-1 Victory at Roosevelt; Cougars Snapped Four-Game Losing Streak

Rancho Cucamonga snapped its four-game losing streak on Friday.

The Cougars scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning to secure a 5-1 victory at Roosevelt.

RCHS out-hit the Mustangs, 8-4.

Roman Magana got the loss after surrendering four runs on two hits over his 1 2/3 innings.

Magana issued a pair of walks and fanned two RCHS batters.

Brock Foulds singled, and his two-run double in the top of the eighth gave RCHS a 4-1 lead.

Mason Pheng walked with the bases loaded in the second, and he singled in a run in the eighth to cap the Cougars scoring.

Jose Gomez doubled and scored.

Braden Longo scored, and he was hit by pitch with the bases loaded in the eight to give the Cougars a 2-1 lead.

Dustin Yela drew a pair of walks, singled twice and he scored two runs.

Aiden Bravo walked and scored.

Isaac Gonzales went seven innings, and he allowed one run on four hits.

Gonzales walked three and fanned one Roosevelt batter.

Josh Almeda retired the side in the bottom of the eighth, including one via strikeout.

Chase Pulido singled and he drew a walk in the fourth inning.

Ethan Bush pinch-ran for Pulido, and he scored on an Andrew Taylor RBI single.

Up next: RCHS heads to Arrowhead Christian on Wednesday night at 6:30.
