College Baseball:
For the second consecutive game, Mt. SAC overcame an early-game deficit to defeat Citrus.
The Mounties defeated the Owls, 9-5, after scoring three runs in the top of the seventh, and they got two more in the ninth.
Tyler Carmona got the loss after allowing three runs (one earned) on two hits and one walk over two innings.
Kaden Moeller went 3-for-6, including a solo HR, two runs and two RBIs.
Ty Thomas hit a two-run HR in the top of the seventh, and that gave MSAC its first lead of the game at 6-4.
Joey Rossetti had a pair of doubles, two runs and one RBI.
Andres Mitat singled and finished with three RBIs.
Andrew Walters walked, singled and scored.
Nick Mejia drew a pair of walks, doubled and scored two runs.
Joel Gutierrez drove in one run on a fielder’s choice.
Matt Viveros was credited with the win.
Viveros went three innings, and he allowed one run on three hits.
Viveros walked one and fanned one Citrus batter.
Jaden Mackowiak earned the save after 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief.
Mackowiak allowed two hits, walked two and struck out three Owls.
Jaden St. Cyr singled, hit a solo HR and scored two runs.
Nathan Hellein went 2-for-4, with an RBI.
Jason Armendariz walked, singled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Ben O’Neil walked, and he had a two-run single in the bottom of the second to give Citrus a 2-0 lead.
Connor Green drew a pair of walks and doubled.
Mario Catalan singled and scored.
Sean Rooney went 2-for-4, with one RBI.
Up next: The Owls and Mounties will both be in action today (Friday).
MSAC travels to Fullerton at 1, and the Owls head to Ventura.
