College Baseball:

There is a reason why Jameson Ferraro has one of the lowest ERA’s in the state.

And that was on display on Wednesday afternoon.

Ferraro went six innings and allowed one run in PCC’s 3-1 victory over fifth-ranked Golden West.

Ferraro scattered seven hits, walked two and fanned seven.

Connor Campbell earned the save, going three scoreless and hitless innings.

Campbell walked one and struck out three Golden West batters.

Robert Castillo went 2-for-3 with a double and he drove in the Rustlers’ run in the top of the sixth.

Dylan Lina singled and scored.

Kaleb Duncan, Ayden Garcia, Andrew Kirchner and Jack Salmon has singles for Golden West.

Alex Ramos was saddled with the loss.

Ramos was charged with two runs on three hits over four innings.

Ramos didn’t issue a walk and struck out three.

The Lancers got one run off of AJ Hernandez on three hits and a walk over his two innings.

Hernandez fanned a pair of PCC batters.

Ivan Barragan drew a pair of walks, scored and his sac fly in the bottom of the fourth gave the Lancers a 1-0 lead.

Jack Esguerra would double the lead that same inning with an RBI double.

Esguerra went 2-for-4, with the RBI.

Mark Manuel walked, singled, doubled and scored.

Evan Nahra had an RBI single in the bottom of the sixth to extend the PCC to lead to 3-1.

Bryan Richman singled and Thomas Villanueva scored once in the win.

Up next: The Lancers travel to San Diego on Saturday to battle Palomar.

The first pitch is set for 1.

PCC will resume South Coast Conference play on Tuesday, as they host East Los Angeles College in the first of a three-game series.
