Glendora’s eighth-inning rally in Tuesday’s 8-6 victory at Maranatha carried over in Wednesday’s showdown with Riverside Prep.
The Tartans scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning, and they never trailed in a 5-3 nonleague victory.
GHS out-hit the Knights, 8-4, and improved to 6-9.
Drew Herd got the loss after surrendering five runs on five hits over his four innings.
Herd didn’t issue a walk and struck out four GHS batters.
Caleb Nguyen singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
Tyler Obert singled and scored.
Aaron Jacobsen was hit by pitch, and he scored one run.
Troy Estrada had an RBI double.
Garrett Dykstra went 2-for-3, with one RBI.
Aidan Yamazaki singled twice and scored.
Gage Gerszewski went four innings and allowed three runs on four hits.
Gerszewski walked three and fanned a pair of Knights batters.
Mizuki Williamson earned the save with three scoreless and hitless innings in relief.
Williamson didn’t issue a walk and struck out one.
Trent Bourgeois singled and scored.
Trevor Thompson walked and scored.
Adrian Jorge singled and had one RBI.
Andrew Logsdon drove in a run on a sac fly.
