Mt. SAC Overcomes Five-Run Deficit to Thump Citrus, 12-5, on Tuesday; Former COHS Star, Chris Ceballos, Earns First Win as a Mountie

College Baseball:

Three days after pounding out 16 runs against Pasadena City College, the Mt. SAC baseball program secured a 12-5 nonconference victory at Citrus.

MSAC trailed 5-0 after four innings of play, but they scored six times in the top of the fifth and never looked back.

The Mounties out-hit the Owls, 13-7, on Tuesday.

Reece Harney was roughed up for six runs on five hits over five innings.

He walked one and fanned a pair of Mounties.

MSAC got four more off of Jake Entrup on three hits and five walks in 1 1/3 innings.

Blake Hagerty went 2-for-4, with a pair of runs and two RBIs.

Joey Rossetti walked, singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in a pair.

Daniel Briones went 3-for-5, with two runs and an RBI.

Bradyn France doubled and scored.

Joel Gutierrez singled and scored.

Bryan Bradshaw walked, singled twice and drove in a run from the leadoff spot.

Jake Hernandez had a two-run single in the top of the ninth.

Andrew Walters walked and scored.

Nick Mejia had an RBI single in the fifth.

Diego Ortiz walked with the bases loaded.

Former Charter Oak star Chris Ceballos earned his first victory since transferring from Westmont and returning from an injury.

Ceballos went 2 1/3 innings and he allowed one run on three hits.

Ceballos issued one walk and fanned three Citrus batters.

Matt Lorenzano was charged with four runs on three hits over 2 2/3 innings.

Lorenzano walked three and struck out one.

Ray Northey provided three scoreless innings and allowed just one hit.

Northey didn’t walk a batter and struck out three.

Seth Wrightstone went one scoreless and hitless inning in relief.

Jaden St. Cyr went 3-for-5, including a pair of solo home runs.

St. Cyr scored three runs and finished with two RBIs.

Jordan Quintero walked and had an RBI double.

Jordan Sheridan walked, singled and scored.

Jason Armendariz had an RBI single.

Mario Catalan walked, scored and had an RBI ground out to give Citrus a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning.

Up next: The Mounties host the Owls on Thursday at 2.
