Baseball:
Marshall Fundamental pounded El Monte pitching in an 18-1 Mission Valley League victory on Tuesday.
The Eagles remain in contention for an MVL title, trailing South El Monte, Arroyo and Rosemead by one-game each in the win column.
Marshall out-hit the Lions, 17-1, and improved to 3-2 in league games.
Freshman Elijah Lain earned the win after going four scoreless innings and surrendering just one hit.
Lain walked a pair and fanned six EMHS batters.
Offensively, Wes Pendleton was one of the many Eagles that had a big day.
Pendleton doubled, scored four times, homered and drove in four runs.
Nate Callaway went 3-for-4, with a walk, double, two runs and one RBI.
Ryan Pandullo walked, singled twice, doubled, scored twice and drove in two runs.
Lain helped his own cause with a double, run and two RBIs.
Adan Castro walked, doubled, drove in a run and scored twice.
Derek Esparza walked, singled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
Sandro DiClaudio walked, singled, tripled, scored twice and had one RBI.
George Jennings singled, scored and drove in one.
Caleb Delgado went 2-for-2, with a run and one RBI.
Chris Romero walked, singled, scored and drove in one.
