Baseball:
Chino Hills got off to a great start in game one of their three-game Baseline League series with Etiwanda.
The Huskies scored three times in the top of the first inning.
Unfortunately for CHHS, Michael Aleman and Andrew Weber teamed up to keep the Huskies scoreless the rest of the way.
EHS edged CHHS, 4-3, and improved their league record to 2-2.
Aleman was charged with three unearned runs on three hits and five walks over 2 2/3 innings.
Weber provided 4 1/3 scoreless innings in relief, allowing one hit and walking three.
Jacob Jimenez went 2-for-4, including a two-run single in the top of the first to give the Huskies a 3-0 lead.
Andrew Baldomino walked, singled and scored.
Brody Buoncristiani walked and scored.
Alexis Medina went three innings for CHHS, and he allowed two runs on six hits.
Medina walked five and fanned three Etiwanda batters.
The Eagles got to Perry Johnson for two runs on no hits and two walks over 1 1/3 innings.
Alex Miranda provided 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
Miranda allowed one hit, didn’t issue and walk and struck out two.
LJ Roellig went 4-for-4, including a double, and a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth to give EHS its first lead of the game at 4-3.
Roellig scored once and finished with two RBIs.
Jaeden Toki walked and had an RBI single in the fourth.
Christian Eaton walked twice and scored, and Chris Montes de Oca drew one walk and scored.
Al Moreno walked twice, singled and had one RBI.
Moreno walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the first inning.
Up next: The Huskies host the Eagles on Wednesday at 3:15.
