Baseball:
Claremont secured its second consecutive Palomares League series on Friday.
One week after taking two of three from Alta Loma, the Wolfpack won a pair of road games at Glendora, and they improved to 4-2 in league games.
Wyatt Green went the distance (108 pitches) and allowed one run on two hits in a 5-1 victory at GHS.
Green issued five walks and struck out eight.
Garrett Dykstra’s base hit in the fourth inning plated Troy Estrada to tie the game at 1-1.
Claremont, however, would answer with three runs in the top of the fifth, and that was more than enough for Green to work with.
Caleb Nguyen walked and singled to account for the other GHS base hit on Friday.
Gage Gerszewski went 4 1/3 innings and he was charged with two runs (one earned) on three hits.
Gerszewski walked two and fanned a pair of Claremont batters.
The Wolfpack got to Jordan Garrison for three runs (two earned) on five hits and one walk over 2 2/3 innings of work.
Ramzey Farah had three doubles, scored, and drove in one run.
Petie Yanez doubled in a run.
Reed Miller singled and scored a pair of runs.
Thomas Plotkin had an RBI double and scored.
Luke Porras doubled and scored.
Green drew a pair of walks and singled.
Up next: CHS travels to Reno to battle McQueen (6-4) on Monday at 3 in tournament play.
GHS will meet up with Maranatha on Tuesday night at 6 at Jackie Robinson Stadium in Pasadena.
