Baseball:
South Hills completed the two-game Hacienda League sweep of Rowland after Thursday’s 18-0 victory.
Freshman Christian Santoyo went three scoreless innings for the Huskies, and he allowed one hit, didn’t issue a walk and fanned five.
Fabian Marez, Steven Jimenez, Aiden Morales and Malone tossed one scoreless inning apiece, and they combined to strike out seven Raiders.
Kyle Tamura and David Garcia had one single apiece to account for the Rowland offense.
The Huskies lit up David Garcia for 11 runs (10 earned) on seven hits and six walks in two innings of work.
Matt Moreno, Noah Malone and Christian Gomez combined to go 8-for-12 with three home runs, four doubles, eight runs and 12 RBIs.
Moreno walked, had a two-run double, two-run HR, and the Huskies senior finished with six RBIs.
Malone walked, hit a three-run HR, had two doubles and scored four runs.
Gomez walked, doubled, hit a 2-run HR, scored three runs and drove in three.
Luke Bauer walked, singled and scored a pair of runs.
Andrew Lulet walked, singled, scored and had one RBI.
Jacob Chavez singled and scored twice.
Steven Jimenez drew two walks, scored a pair of runs and had one RBI.
Richie Soto walked and scored two runs.
