Trailing 3-0 in their Valle Vista League opener at Northview, the West Covina baseball program scored four times in the top of the sixth inning to claim a 4-3 victory.
AJ Flores went six innings for NHS, and he was charged with four unearned runs on six hits.
Flores walked one and fanned six WCHS batters.
Maximilian Murillo’s RBI single pulled the Bulldogs to within 3-1.
Garrett Mori had a two-run double to catch the Vikings at 3-3.
And Marcus Mayweather’s RBI ground out to score Mori turned out to be the game winning run.
Mori doubled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.
Austyn Catano singled, doubled and scored.
Murillo singled, scored and had one RBI.
Jacob Nguyen and Christian Salinas had one single apiece.
Edwin Segovia reached base on an error, and he scored one run to help his own cause.
Segovia went five innings for WCHS, and he allowed three runs (one earned) on four hits.
Segovia issued four walks and struck out eight Northview batters.
Vincent Marichi got the final six outs, allowing just one hit and striking out one.
Isaiah Benavidez walked and had an RBI double.
Robert Lopez doubled and scored.
Evan Bustamante walked, singled and drove in a run.
Flores drove in a run on a sac fly.
