Baseball:
After starting the season 3-4, the Bonita baseball program has won five consecutive games.
Better yet, each of the five were Palomares League conquests.
After the first five league games, Bonita already has a two-game cushion over Claremont and Ayala.
BHS pounded out a 19-4 victory at Alta Loma, and the Bearcats out-hit the Braves, 20-2, on Wednesday.
Jayden Rodriguez-Bernal got the win after he went five innings, and he allowed four unearned runs on one hit.
Rodriguez-Bernal walked two and fanned four ALHS batters.
Adrian Morales singled, scored and had an RBI.
Evan Salcido doubled to account for the other Braves base hit.
Cody Primanto, Logan Sein and Nathaniel Pimentel scored one run apiece.
Salcido went 2 2/3 innings for ALHS, and he surrendered seven runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks.
The Bearcats got 11 runs (six earned) off Moeses Baron on 11 hits over three innings.
For the second consecutive game, Diego Vazquez hit a 3-run HR.
In all, Vazquez went 2-for-4, with four runs and three RBIs.
Jared Brunk walked, doubled twice, singled, scored two runs and had a pair of RBIs.
Andrew Alva went 3-for-4, with a double, two runs and an RBI.
Diego Villa walked, singled, scored and had one RBI.
Colton Perez singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs.
Corbin Duffield singled and had two RBIs.
Austin Owens went 3-for-5 and scored three runs.
Spencer Savage singled twice and scored three runs.
Darien Maung and Dominic Garcia singled and scored one run apiece.
Carter Alba scored and had an RBI.
LJ Vazquez singled and had one RBI.
Brady Horn drove in a run on a sac fly.
