Baseball:
San Marino didn’t get their offense going until the fifth inning, but the Titans were able to secure a 7-2 Rio Hondo League victory at South Pasadena.
SMHS scored twice in the fifth and sixth innings, and they put the game away with a three-run seventh inning.
Tomas Bilvado went the distance, allowing two runs on three hits.
Bilvado issued four walks and struck out five SPHS batters to earn the win.
It took him 98 pitches to finish what he started.
Aaron Kawasaki, Leo Castillo and Devin Robinson had the three South Pasadena singles.
Jon Bracamonte had an RBI ground out, and the Tigers scored their other run on a balk.
Bracamonte also went the distance, and he got the loss.
He allowed seven runs (two earned) on eight hits.
Bracamonte didn’t issue a walk and fanned two San Marino batters.
Bilvado helped his own cause with an RBI double, and he scored one run.
Ryan Park singled, tripled, scored and had one RBI.
Sid Danenhauer singled and scored.
Jamie Bercaw singled twice and scored a pair of runs.
Liam Van Fossan singled and scored.
Mikey Yessaian and JJ Wilson singled and had one RBI apiece.
Chase Mena singled and drove in a run.
San Marino and Monrovia sit one-half game back of Temple City in the Rio Hondo League standings.
