Baseball:
Another South Hills win, and another solid outing from their pitching staff.
SHHS had three pitchers combine to allow one run on five hits in Friday’s 3-1 victory over South Pasadena.
Carson Baker earned the win after going five scoreless and surrendering three hits.
Baker didn’t issue a walk, and he struck out three South Pasadena batters.
Christian Gomez was charged with one run on two hits and a walk over 1/3 of an inning.
And Matt Moreno would come in and shut the door.
Moreno secured the save by getting the last five outs, including one via strikeout.
Moreno needed just nine pitches to close out the Huskies eighth win of the season.
Devin Robinson went 2-for-3, with an RBI.
Luke Riffle walked and scored.
Ben Regan got the loss.
Regan went all six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on eight hits.
He walked one and fanned a pair of SHHS batters.
Noah Malone singled, tripled, scored and had one RBI.
Moreno singled twice, scored, drove in a run on a sac fly, and stole two bases.
Dom Prieto singled twice, including an RBI base hit in the sixth to give South Hills a 3-1 lead.
