Monrovia picked up its first Rio Hondo League victory of 2024.
Four days after a 4-0 setback at the hands of San Marino in the RHL opener, the Wildcats got back on track.
Andrew Cito earned the win after going five scoreless innings, and he allowed one hit in an 11-0 victory over La Canada.
Cito issued two walks and registered six strikeouts.
The Monrovia senior improved to 3-0 with a 0.37 ERA.
David Lopez and James Quesenbery provided one scoreless inning of relief.
Lopez (3) and Quesenbery (2) combined to get five of their six outs via strikeout.
Leon Chen and Finn Flowerhogan had one single apiece for the Spartans.
The Wildcats got to Joe Bell for seven runs (six earned) on four hits and two walks over 1 1/3 innings.
Scott Burns went 2 2/3 innings, and he surrendered three runs on three hits and three walks.
