Kaden Moeller Hits 3-Run HR & Drives in Six in Mt. SAC’s 14-10 South Coast Conference Victory at East Los Angeles College

College Baseball:

Mt. SAC had to wait two extra days to finish its three-game South Coast Conference series with East Los Angeles College.

Mother Nature pushed Saturday’s game to Monday.

And the Mounties didn’t waste a second in taking a 10-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

Mt. SAC got three more in the top of the second, and they held on for a 14-10 victory over the SCC cellar dwellers.

MSAC also claimed their first SCC series of the 2024 season, 2-1.

The Mounties roughed up Andrew Contreras for seven runs (five earned) on four hits and one walk over just 1/3 of an inning.

Mt. SAC was equally the rude guest of Ricardo Villegas as well.

Villegas was charged with six runs on nine hits over 7 2/3 innings.

He walked a pair and struck out seven MSAC batters.

Kaden Moeller went 3-for-5, including a three-run HR, a pair of RBI singles, and a sac fly.

The former Damien standout finished with six RBIs.

Ty Thomas had two doubles, scored and drove in one run.

Nick Mejia went 2-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs.

Bryan Bradshaw drew a pair of walks, singled, drove in a run and scored three times from the leadoff spot.

Joel Gutierrez singled three times and scored.

Joey Rossetti tallied two hits, two runs and a pair of RBIs.

Andrew Ramirez walked and scored two runs.

ELAC got to Blake Hagerty for eight runs on eight hits in 1 1/3 innings.

Hagerty issued three walks and fanned a pair of East Los Angeles batters.

Matt Viveros went 4 2/3 innings and surrendered two runs on two hits and five walks.

Justin Cardenas closed out the win with three perfect innings of relief.

Cardenas struck out three, and of his 38 pitches, 27 were strikes.

Manny Ramirez Jr. hit a three-run HR and a two-run double.

JR Kully walked, hit a two-run double and scored twice.

Evan Chavez drew a pair of walks, singled and scored two runs.

Amaris Harrison walked twice, singled and scored two runs.

Cole Carmichael walked, singled and scored, while Neno Olmeda and Jesse Rojas singled and scored one run apiece.

Up next: The Mounties host Compton this afternoon (Tuesday) at 2.
