College Baseball:
Two former Pasadena High School pitchers combined to shut down the Rio Hondo College bats on Friday.
Joe Bacon went seven strong, allowing one run on four hits in Pasadena City College’s 7-1 South Coast Conference victory at Rio Hondo.
Bacon walked and struck out two RHC batters.
Ben Griffith backed Bacon with two scoreless innings of relief to close out the win.
Griffith allowed one hit, didn’t issue a walk and got four of his six outs via strikeout.
Ethan Orton singled and scored the lone run for Rio Hondo on Anthony Guzman’s RBI base hit in the seventh inning.
Jeremiah Sibrian fell to 0-5.
Sibrian went three innings and allowed five runs on three hits.
He walked two and struck out one PCC batter.
Evan Nahra had two doubles, scored twice and drove in a run.
Thomas Villanueva went 2-for-4, with a run and two RBIs.
Bryan Richman walked, singled and had an RBI ground out.
Jameson Ferraro and Devin Munoz walked, singled and scored one run apiece.
Evan Coad doubled and scored.
Ryan Ivanyi had a sac fly in the top of the third to give PCC a 1-0 lead.
