College Baseball:
Chaffey College improved to 4-0 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play on Wednesday.
Brock Mayer went 5 1/3 scoreless innings in a 9-2 victory over San Bernardino Valley College.
Mayer allowed three hits, issued three walks and struck out three.
Andrew Griffin walked, singled, doubled and scored.
Zachary Marquez had an RBI single in the eighth inning.
Michael McQueen singled and scored.
Izick Leyva was saddled with the loss.
Leyva allowed five runs on five hits over three innings.
He walked three and fanned one Chaffey batter.
Ryder Young doubled and hit a solo HR.
Andrew Rodriguez went 4-for-5, with a double, two runs and a pair of RBIs.
PJ Torrez hit a solo home run, was hit with the based loaded and he scored two runs.
Preston Allen walked, singled twice and scored two runs.
Yahir Ramirez went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
Kai Harrison walked three times and scored, and Jacob Billings drew a pair of walks and scored.
AJ Hurtado walked twice, including once with the bases loaded.
Up next: The Panthers head to SBVC today at 1 for game two of a three-game set.
