Nine days after the 2023-24 postseason got underway, Northview is the final 210 Prep Sports program standing.
The Vikings made the 74-mile road trip to Moorpark High to battle Hillcrest Christian in the semifinal round of the CIF-SS Division 4A playoffs.
NHS trailed HCHS by three points (29-26) as the game entered the fourth quarter.
But the Vikings would go on a 26-17 run, and they defeated the Saints, 52-46, to earn a spot in next weekend’s D-4A title game.
Adrian Almarez scored 16 points to pace the NHS offense.
Almarez hit a pair of 3’s, and he scored nine of his 17 points in the decisive fourth quarter.
Nick Santillan chipped in with 14 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Alex Medrano had two 3-pointers of his own, and he finished with 12 points.
Mason Stueber scored a game-high 18 points for the Saints.
Carter Reid contributed 12 points in Friday’s loss.
Up next: The Vikings will face Temecula Valley and they’ll wait for CIF to decide if the game will be on Friday or Saturday.
The Golden Bears defeated Estancia, 95-79, in their semifinal round game in Costa Mesa.
