Boys Basketball:

Chaminade got off to a slow start in Wednesday’s CIF-SS Division 2A opener.

The Eagles were awarded a postseason berth in spite of not winning a single Mission League game and finishing in dead last.

And they trailed 15-7 at San Dimas after the first eight minutes of play.

Chaminade, however, would outscore the Saints the rest of the way, 53-34, and claimed a 60-49 victory at SDHS.

Kamden Edwards had a game-high 19 points for the Eagles.

Bryce Goldman chipped in with 11 points, and Jonas Thurman had seven.

Andrew Diep hit a game-high four 3-pointers, and he led San Dimas with 16 points.

Nathan Yearout contributed 11 points.

Logan Hodson finished with nine points and Levi Sinclair had eight for the Saints.

San Dimas finished the season as the three-time Valle Vista League champions, and they reached the 20-win (20-9) mark.
