Girls Soccer:

The Flintridge Prep girls soccer program just won its ninth consecutive Prep League championship.

And they did so in dominating form.

The Wolves went 9-0-1 in Prep League games.

A 0-0 tie with Mayfield on January 10th was the only thing that stood between them and a perfect run in league.

The Wolves finished three games ahead of the second-place Cubs.

Flintridge Prep outscored its league competitors by a combined margin of 50-4.

What makes this team so dangerous is the offensive balance this program has wielded.

They have five players with at least 10 goals.

Avery McCormack has team highs in goals (15) and points (38), and she’s third with eight assists.

Zaria Echemendia is second in all three categories, tallying 12 goals, 10 assists and 34 points.

Dagny Marion led Prep with 11 assists to go with 10 goals and 31 points.

Valentina Ronga was a machine in goal.

Ronga pitched 11 shutouts, and she allowed an average of less than one-half a goal in league play.

The Wolves finished the regular season with a record of 16-3-2.

All three losses came by identical 1-0 scores to San Marino, Orange Lutheran and Granada Hills Charter.

Up next: The Wolves get their CIF-SS Division 1 first-round playoff opponent on Saturday morning at 10.
