Girls Basketball:

With one game to play in the Palomares League title chase, Glendora is the lone program with the opportunity to claim an outright championship.

On Monday evening, the Tartans cruised to a 72-18 victory over their visitors from Colony.

And the other significant score was Claremont’s 46-42 triumph of visiting Bonita, which knocked the Bearcats out of a first-place tie with Glendora.

GHS will travel to BHS on Wednesday, and a win would secure the Palomares League championship.

However, if Bonita knocks off GHS, the Tartans would have to settle for sharing the league crown with both Claremont and Bonita.

As far as Monday goes, the Tartans took control early, and the game was never in doubt.

They led 45-12 at the break, and outscored Colony, 27-6, in the second half.

The Titans didn’t score in the fourth quarter.

Glendora’s all-time leading scorer, Rylie Anderson, hit six 3-pointers, and she finished with 23 points.

Addison Martin chipped in with 17 points, and Rebekah Zweerink had 12.

Arryon Crouch scored 12 of Colony’s 18 points.
